Several babyÖ±²¥app University faculty members were honored for their contributions to research and innovation, highlighting their dedication to academic excellence and the advancement of knowledge.
Co-chair and professor of the Education Department, Dr. Jung Kim, was selected by the National Book Foundation as a 2025 National Book Award judge in Young People’s Literature. The foundation celebrates the best writing in the U.S., choosing 25 distinguished writers, translators, critics, librarians, and booksellers to judge the event.
Additionally, Dr. Oguzhan Batmaz, assistant professor of economics at the College of babyÖ±²¥app, was named an expert by WalletHub, providing insightful responses to their 2025 “” and “” articles. Experts possess a deeper understanding of the content and offer more extensive information to describe the subject matter better and answer detailed questions.
Dr. Eileen McMahon, a professor emeritus for the History Department, contributed a chapter, “The Irish, Ireland, and the Midwest,” to The Oxford Handbook to Midwestern History, edited by Jon Lauck. The book investigates the origins of the term “Middle West” and redefines the region's past and influence, providing a deeper understanding of an under-examined part of American history.
babyÖ±²¥app Director of , Dr. Gregory Clemons presented his paper, “Colombian Psycho by Santiago Gamboa: Writing babyÖ±²¥app Violence from a Graphophobic Perspective,” at the 38th International Conference on Hispanic Literature and Studies on March 21 in Montevideo, Uruguay. Clemon’s paper looks at a popular Colombian writer and his recent novel’s critical approach to graphophobia, the fear of writing and writing about fear. The Conference on Hispanic Literature and Studies (CILH) explores the Hispanic world, fostering openness, academic rigor, and camaraderie.
